Every year St. Michael’s selects a long-time parishioner to receive the Heritage Award to honor their dedication and involvement with various programs and ministries. This year Gail Reid will be honored. She began attending St. Michael’s in 1989 when St. Michael’s was last without a rector. Since then she has been involved with many different ministries at St. Michael’s. Gail is very active in serving on the Altar Guild. She is a member of the Order of the Daughters of the King and often serves as a Eucharistic Minister during worship. She has been involved with many of the various outreach ministries such as Trinity Center and Mobile Loaves and Fishes but her service has been most evident in her past work with the St. Michael’s garden. St. Michael’s provides organic vegetables to our food pantry and the St. James Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program. Please help St. Michael’s honor Gail by attending the Heritage Dinner on Saturday, May 6. Bring the whole family to our annual “Pancakes and Pajamas” supper party on Shrove Tuesday, February 28. The St. Michael’s Men’s Kitchen Crew will be flippin’ flapjacks and serving up smoked sausage and side dishes from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall.
Lots of kids (grownups, too!) like to wear their pajamas to this event, but come dressed any way you like! We’ll have music and table decorations as we enjoy a time of fellowship before the start of Lenten season.
Cost of the pancake supper is $3 per person, with a max of $10 for families of four or more. Proceeds from the event will support adult and youth ministries at St. Michael’s.
So mark Tuesday, February 28, 5:00 to 7:00 pm on your calendar – and bring your appetite and your jammies to St. Michael’s!
