Small Group Fellowship, Volunteering and Service
How to Get Involved – Adults
There are many ways you can get involved at St. Michael’s. Monthly church-sponsored events may range from family picnics to retreats. However the way to really engage in the Church community, is to get involved with a group at St. Michael’s. Group involvement is one of our seven expectations for Discipleship and is part of our Mission Statement. As you review the descriptions below, there may be a group you would like to see on the list. Let the clergy or any staff member know and perhaps a new group can be started at St. Michael’s. As you discern which group or groups appeal to you, please talk to the clergy, a staff member or a member of the church. Of course, the discernment will involve prayer. Make your decision and get involved.
Group involvement at St. Michael’s can be divided into several categories.
- Spiritual Growth and Formation: We offer Sunday School classes for both adults and children on Sunday morning as well as various small groups and classes during the week.
- Community Support and Outreach: Groups that can allow you to support other people who are in need of assistance. Some of these groups serve members of the church while others reach into the greater community.
- Worship – Volunteers are needed to help prepare for and serve at the Sunday and other worship services.
- Church Volunteers – There are several ways you can assist the clergy by volunteering for various tasks associated with the Sunday School program or with the church property.
