Safe Church Ministry
St. Michael’s Episcopal Church conforms and follows all Diocese of Texas Guidelines and Requirements.
The Episcopal Church has developed excellent programs for the prevention of sexual abuse of children and for the prevention of sexual exploitation of adults.
To participate in either of these trainings, you must first complete a face-to-face interview (see below). Following this interview you will receive an e-mail from the Diocese of Texas inviting you to complete the certification process. Upon acceptance of your application, you will be invited to sign up for a particular training time. After you have attended a training and all background and reference checks have been completed, you will receive notification of your Safeguarding certification (good for five years, after which it has to be renewed). For Safeguarding God’s Children: Please contact Debbie Vickery or the Rev. Janne Osborne to schedule an interview. For Safeguarding God’s People: Please contact Mary Healy or the Rev. Janne Osborne to schedule an interview. updated by JAO 5 May 2012
