St. Michael’s Episcopal Church
Outreach Report to the Vestry
As of February 25, 2016
At their January 2016 meeting, the St. Michael’s Vestry approved the 2016 Operating Budget with no funds allocated to Outreach during the 2016 calendar year as one means to reduce the deficit budget. Instead of allocating a tithe from regular pledges during the year through the Operating Budget, St. Michael’s will highlight one of its Outreach Partners each month and parishioners can make donations to these organizations through St. Michael’s. This approach to financial giving does not affect the support to many organizations where we regularly provide volunteers.
There will be an article featuring the “Outreach Partner of the Month” in the Trumpet each week during the month. On at least one Sunday during the month, there may be announcements scheduled during the services highlighting the organization. There may also be additional information at a table in between services or other activities to generate interest about the featured organizations. The total donations made during the month to the Outreach partner will be reported in a Trumpet article the following month.
The following outreach organizations will be highlighted each month.
|February 2016||Trinity Center|

Other Outreach Giving During 2016
In February 2016, St. Michael’s distributed $5,980 to El Buen Samaritano and $5,980 to Refuge Services from the Capital Campaign pledge giving as of

December 31, 2015. There may be an additional tithe distributed if or when any remaining Capital Campaign pledges trickle in through 2016.
In addition, there are restricted or designated outreach funds that have been earmarked for specific organizations from the previous years’ budget or from specified donations. If these funds are not used this year they will rollover to next year. These funds may be distributed for these specific outreach organizations or purposes during 2016 depending on the need and situation.
