Visiting St. Michael’s

Feeling at Home at St. Michael’s

All churches have their norms or “ways things happen.” We hope these tips will answer some of your questions:

  • Everyone is encouraged to wear a name tag. Name tags are available in both the north and south entryways.
  • Children are definitely welcome at all services. We do have a nursery for the youngest ones, as well s a cry room for infants. All Sunday school children are included in the celebration of Holy Communion (the Eucharist).
  • All baptized persons are invited to receive Holy Communion.
  • Standing and kneeling are both acceptable postures during the prayers and while taking communion.
  • Light refreshments are served in the north entryway or in the courtyard after the 9:00 and the 11:00 a.m. services. You are encouraged to linger and meet new friends. On the First Sunday of each month we offer a delicious Taco Breakfast between services (10-10:50 a.m.)
  • If you wish to donate flowers on a particular Sunday, there is a sign up sheet up on the bulletin board in the north entryway (narthex). More than one person may sign up per Sunday. $35.00 is the suggested donation. Fill out the information to specify what designation you wish to make and leave a check made out to St. Michael’s in the “Altar Flower” envelope.
  • Upcoming events are publicized in our weekly e-newsletter, The Trumpet, and Sunday worship bulletin (our Sunday Trumpet). Please feel free to ask about events that interest you.
