Marriage

We are delighted that you are interested in being married at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church! We are always pleased to work with couples as they prepare for this joyous occasion in their lives and to celebrate and bless their marriage. The Book of Common Prayer states, “Christian Marriage is a solemn and public covenant between a man and a woman in the presence of God. In the Episcopal Church it is required that one, at least, of the parties must be a baptized Christian; that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses; and that the marriage conform to the laws of the State and the canons of this Church” (BCP, p. 422).

St. Michael’s hosts weddings of members of the church, Episcopalians from other cities and states, couples intending to become active members and occasionally for members of other churches whose worship space might not be available or perhaps suitable for the ceremony.

If you wish for one of St. Michael’s clergy to officiate at your wedding, the first step is to have an initial consultation with either our associate rector, the Rev. Janne Alro Osborne or our rector, the Rev. Robby Vickery.  Please do not finalize the date of your wedding until you have met with one of us.

Others need to contact our administrative office to see if your chosen date is available and whether it is possible for you to proceed with planning your wedding at St. Michael’s.

May God’s blessings be upon you as you begin to plan your very special day!
