—— Family Ministry ——
Family Ministry exists to foster connections with regular, thoughtful worship opportunities, designed for kids, on Sunday mornings and with events for families, such as Family Night at the Austin FC and Trunk or Treat, to connect to our whole church family. If you have any questions, or would like to be added to our email list, please contact Ms, Karen Liston, our interim Children’s Minister at dayschoolchaplain@st-michaels.org.
We’re grateful for the little ones in our midst on Sundays!
God made children with energy, curiosity, and yes—wiggles! Their joyful presence during worship is a beautiful sign that our faith is alive and growing.
At St. Michael’s, we strive to offer grace and peace to every one and feel truly blessed to worship alongside your family. We know it takes intention and effort to bring little ones to church, and we’re so grateful for your dedication to raising them in the Church. You’re doing holy and important work.
For families who’d like extra support, we have a nursery for newborns – age 2 and Sunday School for 3 year olds – 4th graders. Both options are open most Sundays for the 9:00 and 11:00am services, and at 10:00am during the summer worship schedule. Parents are reunited with their children in the sanctuary at the peace—in time for communion together as a family. We also have the gathering room beside the sanctuary and wiggle bags.
St. Michael’s will continue to welcome and uplift our youngest members with warmth, patience, and joyful hearts. Together we grow in faith, serve in love, connect as one family, and worship as the Body of Christ.
Sunday school
schedule: 9:00 & 11:00 am (10:00 am June 29-August 3)
Family Life Center (Rm 8, Education wing)
St. Michael’s offers Christian activities and Bible lessons for children ages 3-10 (fifth grade) in the Family Life Center (Rm 8 in the Education wing) during the first part of the 9:00 & 11:00 am services. Kids return to their parents in the service during the announcements.
We also offer the Gathering Room, which is adjacent to the sanctuary, for energetic children, and there are wiggle bags in the narthex with quiet play activities.
Vacation Bible Camp
Every June, St. Michael’s offers Vacation Bible Camp for children aged 4 through rising 4th graders. This weeklong, half-day camp is jam-packed with Bible-focused activities: storytelling, mission work, games, crafts, and more. The registration fee is affordable ($25/child) and scholarships are always available. Recent themes include A Road Trip with God; Camp Firelight: A Summer Camp Adventure with God; Operation Restoration: Mending God’s World; and Make Waves: What You Do Today Can Change the World Around You.
