Christine Havens arrived in Austin from Waterloo, Iowa, in 2012 to attend the Seminary of theSouthwest, graduating from the Master of Arts in Religion program in 2014. She also has an MA inLiterature from the University of Northern Iowa, with an emphasis in medieval studies. Christine joined the staff of St. Michael’s in May of 2019, and is grateful to God for the grace that brought her here.

Aside from her work and ministry at St. Michael’s, Christine is a freelance writer, whose bookreviews, essays, poems, and feature articles have appeared in The Living Church, on mbird.com, and Anglican Theological Review, among other places. She also serves as chaplain-in-residence at Camp Allen one week per year, in the spring. Storytelling and play are her passions. Besides being an avid reader, Christine loves small batch creativity--crocheting, putting together LEGO sets, and making zines. She considers herself an Iowan Texan.
